Yesterday [March 23] marked the 98th anniversary of the beginning of Terre Haute’s biggest weather disaster – the 1913 tornado, followed by a flood, that killed 21 persons on a path stretching from Prairieton through Terre Haute to near Brazil. Wabash Valley Visions and Voices has a nice digital collection of photos of the damage. Also, Archives hosts a rather compelling account of the disaster compiled by an ISU history student.
