Texting and Social Media Help for Japan Earthquake

Several non­profit agencies providing disaster relief to victims have set up text donation options.

» American Red Cross Relief: Text REDCROSS to 90999 to do­nate $10 or redcross.org.

» The Salvation Army: Text JAPAN or QUAKE to 80888 to make a $10 donation or salvation armyindiana.org.

» Convoy of Hope: Text TSU­NAMI to 50555 to donate $10 or convoyofhope.org.

» World Relief Corp. of the National Association of Evangel­icals: Text WAVE to 50555 to donate $10 or worldrelief.org.

» GlobalGiving: Text JAPAN to 50555 to donate $10 or global giving.org.

Google is using its People Finder to help assist victims in touching base with family and friends. It allows users to look for victims or post information about people in five languages.
