Coming soon: Google Scholar searchable full-text holdings

Posted by isulib on February 21, 2012

ISU faculty, staff, and students will soon be able to search for and download full-text provided by the ISU Library through Google Scholar. Authentication is by IP address and remote users will be prompted for authentication while using this service.  Serials Solutions (the company whose technology runs our Electronic Resources portal) will share our electronic resource holdings tracked in 360 Core with Google while our link resolver, 360 Link, will use Google Scholar as a referring source.

Our holdings in Google Scholar will be updated by Google once every one to two weeks, based on our holdings tracked in 360 Core and provided by Serials Solutions. Serials Solutions will provide our holdings information to Google within 24 hours. Setup by Google can take several weeks. We’ll let people know when the service becomes available. Please note that, like accessing our databases, this service will not be available to non-ISU library users from off-campus.
