University Archives offering help with record retention

May 22 2012

University Archives would like to work with departments, faculty, and staff across campus to help with reviewing files that you may have in your cabinet and/or on disk or hard drive. Two questions that we are often asked in University Archives is “How long should I retain these records?” and “Should these records be stored in University Archives?” If you, too, ponder these questions, take a look at the following two web pages. The first web page talks about general retention while the second url leads to directions on how to transfer items to Archives.

If you have questions about whether a record should be transferred to Archives for permanent storage or how long to retain certain records please contact my office. We are happy to work with you.
