Decorating a tree

Monday, library staff visited the Vigo County Fairgrounds to decorate a Christmas tree. This year’s tree, themed “A County Christmas,” was decorated with salt dough and cinnamon dough cookies – all hand decorated by library staff.

Tree Fest, which is sponsored by the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, is an annual event where organizations can sponsor a tree. the public then votes for their favorite tree. At the end of the vent, the trees are donated to families who would not otherwise have a tree this season.

You can visit the trees this year on December 6 & 7 from 4 pm – 8 pm, Dec 8 from 3 pm – 8 pm and Dec 9 from 1 pm – 4 pm. Entrance fees are $5 per adult, children 12 and under are free.

More information can be found on the Tree Fest website.
