New Wireless Network (SSID) to Begin Broadcasting on Friday, August 9, 2013

Posted by isulib on August 9, 2013

The Library often has ISU and non-ISU people trying to get onto the wireless network. Here is an update.

What is happening?
OIT will begin broadcasting a new wireless network (SSID) called ISU-WIFI-SETUP on Friday August 9, 2013. The new wireless network is designed to help new and returning students connect to the ISU wireless network by providing them access to a webpage with directions on configuring their laptop and other mobile devices.

Why is this change being made?
The new ISU-WIFI-SETUP is being broadcast to make it easier for new and returning students to connect to the ISU wireless network. The self-help webpage will guide students through connecting to the ISU wireless network without having to seek technical assistance. You can view the webpage at https://wirelessvisitor.indstate.edu/sites/setup/.

This does not have any impact on current wireless connections on campus.

If someone has contact with students that need access to the wireless network, the students should be directed to connect to the new wireless network (ISU-WIFI-SETUP) and follow the instructions. If they still need assistance connecting, direct them to the Student Computer Support Center (SCSC) located in Stalker Hall room 009.

Questions or concerns: contact the IT Help Desk at 812-237-2910.
