Librarian Honored for “Longevity”

Posted by isulib on April 5, 2016

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, ISU’s Women of Promise Committee honored the library’s own Valentine Muyumba, along with Julia Bruce (African American Cultural Center), Brenda Hall (Student Financial Aid) and Mary Seaward (IU School of Medicine), at a formal recognition ceremony, the first annual Her Color Shines awards. These distinguished women were selected as the recipients of the 2016 Longevity Award.

This award is given those who have shown strength, dedication and service to ISU. They have also endured and persevered through trials and setbacks, have given wise council to students and have become confidantes by their nurturing and loving ways. Valentine has been with ISU for 38 years, and currently is Head of Technical Services.  Brenda Hall has been with ISU 32 years, Julia Bruce 35 years and Mary Seaward 34 years.
