maybe they should have said ‘the previous student email system’ – since this affects all students, regardless of age 😉
December 20 2011
The old student email system will be turned off on Dec. 31, and all email will be permanently deleted. Email sent to the old student email system will be returned to the user as undeliverable after December. If you have not already started using the new student email addresses you are encouraged to do so before the system is shut down. You can search for student email addresses in your Outlook address book just as you would a faculty or staff member.
If you have questions, please visit the FAQ located at http://www.indstate.edu/oit1/userservices/ithelp/email/sycamoresfaq.html or contact the Help Desk at x2910.

Our vendor, EBSCO, has retired the H.W. Wilson interface. Wilson Web has been removed from our database list. Links for Humanities Abstracts with Full Text (now just Humanities Full Text) and Library Literature and Information Science (LLIS) have been re-directed to the EBSCOhost interface. Don’t forget: LLIS should become unavailable next month when our subscription to LISTA with Full Text begins.

This semester we saw 2,692 students: 1,315 via scheduled appointments, 195 through walk-in service, 43 through Distance Tutoring, 1,116 via class visit, and 23 through workshops. Roughly one third of all the Writing Center’s visitors were ESL students, and about a tenth of our patrons were graduate students. The Writing Center sees roughly four times as many freshmen as sophomores, juniors, or seniors.
